"Feel", or "balance" can be done by making what ammounts to "cosmetic" or
easy, across-the-board changes that don't change the rules.

For example, the game becomes immediatly more "gritty" by changing the HP
rules to a base die + 1/level.

I doubt that d20 will dominate the market, although it will no doubt "reign
supreme" as both D&D and the upcoming STAR WARS game are both d20...

And I don't expect every game company to automatically switch.  I expect to
see some conversions, and then maybe some real changes.
