Actually anything that is taken to print (even electronically) is
automatically copyrighted under US law. You no longer need to place a
statement saying it is copyrighted. That is an old law and is no longer in
effect (but still a useful reminder.) That copyright can be challenged if
someone feels they have had their material taken from them or used without
permission but there are really no if ands or buts about it. Check out the
US Copyright office website and they put it in black and white.
