Probably to convince senior management. Last I'd heard, they were the
*only* established company using a license like this. They're certainly the
biggest... and the new d20 system ruleset is probably the biggest single
cash cow the company has ever seen (definitly the biggest RPG cash cow.)
Remember that, if you go and write up your own RPG, *nothing* prevents you
doing the exact same thing as WotC is doing. To speak theoretically, if
White Wolf were to release their system, they'd probably have some sort of
"Storyteller Trademark License".
