Is there going to by a way to identify that a particular product (software or
text) is compatible with the d20 SRD even if its not compatible with the d20
trademark?

A Character Generator is a good example of this. While it can't use d20
trademark it's still compatible with the d20SRD and is intended to be used in
conjunction with games based on the that document. Having an ogl document
named after a trademarked name might be problematic. If someone called their
Character Generator "d20Character Generator", they might only want to imply
that their creation is compatible with the d20SRD not the D20STL.
