OK, I will admit to being too vague here. As I
remeber it this was basically Ryan Dancy's resoning as
he stated early in the process (I'd have to check Eric
Noahs site to refresh my memory on his eexact wording)
and obviously not the reason for the community at
large. Obviously not just anybody will get the rights
to WB's IP, however there was hope early on that such
larger corp would have a vested interest in releasing
their properties with D20 features--namely they could
save a lot of money in product testing (the D20 core
is fairly well tested) and product regognition
(hopefully D20 will be familiar to most gamers.)
In reality, Im not sure we are close to that but it
would then again Star Wars is a step in that
direction.
