Personally, I intend on using the RPG concept. I think it is a
misconception (a logical one based on the past market) that RPGs are
only for a certain kind of person or simply for entertainment. I am not
so interested in the mass market procedure as I am in attempting to find
out not _if_ different kinds of people will play and enjoy RPGs but
_what_ will the RPGs have to be like in order to attract them. I'm
taking the NPO approach because I believe that RPGs can make a direct,
immediate, and charitable contribution to the curent state of our
society. When we prove that, you can bet that mass marketing will occur,
just in a different way.

Research and playtesting are going to play an important role in proving
my assumption, obviously, but if I'm right we will in essence be mass
marketing "d20"... not by selling our products in Target but by reaching
a portion of the population who have never understood (and probably never
will) what Gen Con is or know the fear of "a large round floating thing
with 10 eyes and a mouth approaches your party". That's the kind of
mass marketing that I think will be possible and benificial to all
sectors of the RPG industry. IMO. ; )
