I'm getting tired of hearing this complaint:

that people "wanting to make FAN works have basically 
been told "either hire a lawyer or go away".

No one has said that.

I personally feel that the great part of the OGL and
the d20 STL is that you can use them without a lawyer
as long as you comply strictly.
