I am not sure how that refutes #1.
Clearly people not liking something means that they doubt its value.
Especially, not liking something to the point of ignoring it. The fact that
increasing numbers of people are violating the IP laws, means that they would
rather they not apply. Perhaps, you are confusing the double standard people
place on their own actions as opposed to those of others. The only practical
measure however, is what action each individual takes, not what they wish
everyone else did. Therefore, even though people might claim that IP laws
are a good thing for others or even themselves, it doesn't mean anything if
they are unwilling to apply those same standards to themselves.

Not liking something does not mean they doubt its value. A lot of people don't
like even the more benign software agreements that provide for a legal response,
because software is easy to steal -- easy to get for free.
IP laws give intellectual property a similar sort of recognition that "hard"
property receives, and some consequences for stealing it (ie going against the
license agreement restrictions on copying).
"Most people" dont read license agreements. They also do not invest in IP or
create IP. They usually do not know how much it cost to develop the IP. IP laws
protect those who invest in IP, because IP IS property. Those who pirate clearly
value IP, otherwise they wouldnt bother to pirate it. But piracy is theft, and
some people dont mind stealing something instead of having to pay for it.
Your said "the average person seems to be beginning to doubt the value of IP
laws". The average person who uses IP like music and software (which is an
expression of value) is very likely to pirate IP if there is no protective
measures in place. Im sure the Cookie Monster would doubt the value of a padlock
on the cookie jar.
