Huh?  Advertising rates are based on ratings.  Ratings are how many people 
watch a given show (and its commercials).  By watching the shows, but not 
the commercials, you're keeping the ratings (and ad costs) up, but giving 
the advertisers less value (eyeballs) for their dollar.
