A lot of people have inquired about this. Particularly about Star Frontiers
and Gamma World. I don't recall ever seeing a definitive explanation of WHY
they won't be made available, but it my understanding that sadly they will
not, even under license.
I asked Ryan a year ago if Star Frontiers or another defunct game would be
released under an open license. He said no, because the goal of OGL/D20
is to reduce the number of competing rules systems in use. It sounds to me
like the only way WOTC is going to do anything open with out of print games
is if they are converted to D20 first.
