but, you already owned a D&D3E PH, right?  would you have bought one, 
in *order* to play Weird Wars?  i can definitely see D20 versions of 
games getting gamers to try them that wouldn't have if the system 
were new.  but that doesn't sell more for WotC.  i doubt anybody who 
both wouldn't have bought Traveller and wouldn't have bought D&D will 
now do either (much less both) because of a D20 version of Traveller. 
it has definite potential for improving the gaming community and 
industry (if non-D&D D20 games serve as a bridge to non-D20 games, 
causing some portion of the formerly D&D-only crowd to become 
customers of multiple games), but i don't see how these non-D&D D20 
games help WotC.
