Exactly.  You need to not call a lot of attention to this compatibility -- it needs to be something that people looking for compatibility information can find without being so bloody large that it confuses the end user into believing it is a licensed product, etc.

Disclaimers are needed generally.

This is an area untested in some courts to my knowledge.
