Well, either you secure permission from the trademark owner of Gargoyle
(either the one from Disney or from DC Comics, which I heard will be
optioned for a movie), or change your material to resemble neither one.

If Wizards can use Shadow Chasers which is inspired by series such as Buffy,
Angel, Special Unit 2, etc., and GeneTech which is inspired by Dark Angel
series, the Island of Dr. Moreau, etc., I'm sure you can do a work of
inspiration.
