Although I don't know how the merge/unmerge algorithms work, you could 
try editing the edition records themselves and they MAY separate out. I 
looked at some of them, and when you go into the edit mode the title at 
the top of the page is "Miko" -- that should be the title of the work, 
but in this case it is the title of the series. So if you change that to 
the title of the book... such as in

http://openlibrary.org/books/OL7762633M/

from "Miko" in that title field to

"It was me, mom" (and not "It was me, mom (Miko)" -- because that's 
Amazon putting the series name at the end of the edition title name), 
then it might separate those out.

It's worth a try?
