I'm planning on turbos and EFI to get me close to that. I'm aiming

Looking for a good non-windowed block now, and a 330 crank. The
expensive bit for me will be the (custom) forged pistons, since flat-
tops ain't gonna be boost-friendly. I could get away with using flat-
tops and big-block or #8 (or 403 4A) heads. That would drop the
compression to a more boost-friendly number. Shooting for 8.0:1 - 8.5:1.
But then, I'm comfortable with EFI and the concept of turbos. What's
real neat is that nothing trick is needed, just a little more
toughness to handle boost. When off-boost, a turbo engine is a mild-
cammed (no overlap is best), low compression teddy bear. It's only a
beast when you get it boiling, and the boost is load dependent, not
RPM. With a supercharger, you get boost (and drag) whether you want
it or not. This is the beauty of turbos - power when you want it,
relative economy when you need it, especially with EFI. If only I
could manage a cash infusion to get things moving faster. So far I
have the intake (Caddy 350 Olds EFI) throttle body (Frod 460 double-
barrel truck), injectors (Frod CFI 42 pounders), EFI controller
(MegaSquirt) and one intercooler (Saab 900 Turbo, need two.)
I plan to modify an A-body fuel tank for an in-tank pump, or, if I
can find an EFI B-body fuel tank unmolested in the wrecking yard
(they like to punch holes in them to drain them), use that. I'll set
it up normally aspirated initially, probably on the current numbers-
matching 10.25:1 mostly stock mill.
Heck, I may just find a decent 71-2 engine and see how far I can
boost it with cast pistons and crank...
Augh, too many projects, and no where near enough time or money!
