Hydrogen is a crock.  It's a huge waste of energy.  It take so much
energy (coal fired electricity) to make it - it doesn't equal out at
all.

I think that you missed one of the points of the article. At one time, people thought about gasoline the same way as you seem to think about H2. I'm not saying that hydrogen is the future fuel, but it's in the running. Mind you, I shudder to think of people who manage to blow themselves up refueling their cars with gasoline trying to use hydrogen - maybe the professional pump jockey will make a comeback due to H2 safety concerns? BTW, my other car is a rotary-engined RX-7. I turns out that the rotary is nearly ideally suited for burning hydrogen, due to combustion chamber shape. Mazda has a hydrogen-powered RX-8 running around currently.
