Actually, the EPA has already researched this issue in the '60s and '70s. >From the very beginning, the Liberal philosophy fueling the political agenda of the EPA has wanted to get rid of any vehicle when it turned 10-15 years old. That was an original goal. But extensive legal research into the U.S. Constitution conclusively determined the EPA could not ban, confiscate, destroy older vehicles due to the constitutional protections for private property. Our Founding Fathers were very wise. Therefore, the only thing the EPA could do to make it tough on owners of older cars was to remove the lead from gasoline (which is the only real reason lead was removed - including the bogus emission control reasons and health reasons) and the current removal of zinc and phosphorous from engine oils. As long as there is profit in making engine oil with zinc and phosphorous and in refining gasoline, we will have oil and gasoline for our cars. To do anything else would require modifying our constitution or taking over the Federal government and forming a real police state dictatorship. The exact same sequence of events defines the efforts of the anti-firearm crazies to get rid of guns. The constitution won't allow it. The anti-firearm crazies keep getting defeated in most ways. All car people and pro-firearm people should ban together and fight the rampant political stupidity that affects their interests with a united front. It's exactly the same fight...a fight for Freedom. Milton Schick 1964 442 Cutlass [EMAIL PROTECTED]
