I think it's quite important to have a more recent, less dull and some new stuff in a distro release if we're gonna give away usb sticks this year.

I have two things of work on technical stuff in preparation of FOSDEM, the first being finalizing the image creating process etc. for the Moondrake (yes, not OMV) Wandboard media center, and also isos using the classical installer, incorporating all of bug updates, additonal fixes, while all work I've done on drakx* tools, urpmi/perl-URPM over the last year, and this will be released as Moondrake GNU/Linux also rather than OMV. Considering Raphaël has offered for the association to officially support the project/distro, I antiicipate that people won't be too upset about what I'll prepare in time for FOSDEM, for which thanks to Raphaël's personally sposoring my trip out of his own pocket (if anyone else would feel as generous and find my attendane valuable enough, both myself and Raphaël would appreciate this btw., but i won't go on begging much more beyond that, beyond expressing my gratitude and greatfulness towards Raphaël and his will to aid me9 I seem to be attending this year after all, and as i expect that we'll have some usb sticks this year as well to hand out, i would think if would be good to have both omv & mdk usb sticks to distribute, especially since the latter is more updated and with new functionality, features and far more recent versions of our own in-house developed tools, for which i'll be more than willing to tell and answer questions about.

For this release, i would as i said above, merge all the stuff (all my work done privately since may 2013, so it'll be quite an update and more recent to what's been in the omv releases which has been shipping neglibly improved/developed over that period) that i'm in the process of merging back to cooker. i will also try find the time to finish integrate some of the features I've discussed here, that's yet only resides in my source repos, while awaiting final preparations for being included.

Blackcrack, would this satisfy what you'd like to see in this release?
so, well, Arvi has love the Pingu's, the penguins who we has make, in the old direction, this as logonpictures
all in direction the old MDK in direction mdk 7.0/9.0/10.0 around you know,
all what's has the old mandrake (so not the history, the art of w.. Linux ;) you see :) this all was who has Arvi's like .. so, in the termina, you asciipictures, in X the Penguin-nice-gui :) not to much childish, but what, what can say, yes, it is usable and appealing / attractive you see :) easy the old art of MDK :) (without the politic behind .. *g* ) this was, what has like Arvi :) AleQ in the forum can make really well background's, maybe ask him to times for an well background.

For the background you mentioned by Arvi, I'm not sure which you refer to, Arvi was very fond of the existing one in Moondrake, and didn't think of there being a need for changing it at all, so I'm not sure if you refer to some other background or not. But I will most certainly still continue to include his tuxlets theme avatars, which I think of as a nice way to honour him, but including names of deceased in the release code name, is something i'm principally is against of and something that can easily be found in more or less poor taste by some, I'd rather place some dedication somewhere else...

If these plans for preparing a release in time for FOSDEM sounds satisfactory to people, and noone will object to distributing it together with OMV usb keys at the stand, I will start work on preparing this.

Any comments? Suggestions? :)
not yet, but i thinking about .. the problem it is, i don't know what's in the next 2 month.. so i don't know what's in the future it is with my money , so i mus make now small steps for be save in the future, in any way .. you understand.. last year has see it other,
but now.. :\
best regards

    Hi Raphaël,

well, if you whant have an CD/DVD who works really well for us,
look that the ISO 2014.2 is ready before the start FOSDEM,
because an really well working System it's better as an ALFA who
    be only say..:
"whoo the 2015 becomes good, really good ! here it is the ALFA"
    *dump looking*

humm, hole words can i make also, but.. so but if you have an ISO
    /DVD
with us Distro in the hand from last year, where works really, can
    you say,
this is from last Year vinified (like a good wine), but this, this
    year becomes better !
This is a statement that is almost impossible to beat, because the
    finsh iso it's
an reality and the Community grown up it is also an reality..
and this statement is much better, than to say..
"this crappy alpha thing is well, but it's comes more better/
    (crappy??)" you see.. so,
it's much better to have an really well stone in the hand as an
    Bird on the roof ;)
because, with the stone can you hunting .. with the Bird on the
    roof not .. ;)

    best regards

I think it's a good idea also, but it would certainly be best if
the optimisations are pushed at the same time on 2015 so that
there is no a bigger gap between the two major versions, no?

            Hi Peoples,

the 2014 it is now inclusive the i586 an well running system
            in this point .
It's not an well idea/suggestion if we now make with 2014.2
as an System who it is running well so far and bug fixed
            so far.
Urpmi it is on both systems well running now, and the
            pictures
want be well working via libpng16 like i has view ..
Maybe updating the the rest of the library what's not up
            to date
and should work really well so far ..

So, why not then creating an2014.2 iso as as finalization
before we create an 2015 . For have something who can we
            tell,
"take this CD/DVD/ISO and be happy, because he can be really
happy because it works easy well so far" .. and..
the Surface it is up to date so far .. so what whant we
            more..
if we now creating an finalization ISO for have an clean
            install
and an Clean configuring do we hve an ISO where can say,
            yes,
            it's the best of 2014 .. the 2014.2 iso .

It's not a bad idea, I would've generated some (compatible)
moondrake isos satisfying this request, but unfortunately I
doubt that I'll have the time..

But then again, since your desired requirements for such a
release is rather modest, there's a fair chance that I might
just push a Moondrake GNU/Linux 2014 1/2 based on top of OMV
        2014.1...

No promises, but considering that what you ask for in such a
release wouldn't require much work (if I understood it
right), I *might* satisfy your request. :)
