Dear Per Oyvind,
I must admit that I do not have such technical skills as you have but I
feel that we have a certain brand with "OpenMandriva" and I am not sure
if this "Retro-Mandrake" is going to work. I doubt it.
Furthermore could you elaborate on things outside of Cooker such as
manuals, Wiki etc. please?
I know there is lots of room for improvement but I am quite reluctanct
of changing the banner once again. We would have to change design,
website, update manuals etc. and I prefer staying under the OpenMandriva
banner as having something new. We do have a brand, which might not be
the most powerful but we do have one that I would like to stick to.
With Mandriva SA filing bankruptcy I lost a reference of my translation
work on the web. I did the German version of their site and localised a
lot of their Pulse, MDS etc. products - something that I could use as a
reference to attract new potential customers. I don't want to lose these
work I put into OpenMandriva as well.
For me Cooker is a community itself which has a long lasting heritage
that contributors can be proud of. What I would like to point out is
that there are other non-technical aspects and we do need to work together.
I also admit that I am also concerned about the financial state of the
Association as the Crowdfunding campaign hasn't been that successful.
Regards,
Maik

Can we at least get a proper official response from the OMA foundation?
I fully support Per in his claims, and is obvious that just trying to
"hide" from the situation and postponing serious conversation is
hurting everyone.
The project keeps going in no direction for years, while me and so
many others decided to stop helping from the lack of trust on the
council capacity to deal with problems and act like the real
intermediate representative for such discussions to happen, instead
what we have now is a Foundation with no plans, no strategic view,
controlled by who knows who (we actually know, but let's skip finger
pointing for now), that have absolutely no transparency.
Blocking Per on the lists is just a clear act of non-transparency, to
not say despotism, and personal bias from the ones that have the control.
So again, I reiterate, who is the representative of the Foundation
that can come up here and have a proper discussion about the points
raised?
Regards,
Guilherme Moro

I read in other MLs that Per Øyvind was banned from from this mailing
list, so he can't write here anymore. Since he was historical
contributor,
can someone refer about this situation, or maybe it's just a technical
problem and he gone off-list just because of some technical issue
(e.g.
mail bouncing exceed, etc.).
Thanks.
Giuseppe.
