Whatever version is bundled with OMD- you should not have to update anything outside of the bundle, regardless of if you are using OMD v1.0,1.10, or 1.20. Don't overthink it, just follow the directions.

You should not use 1.2.7iX for production use. Documentation just says there's been a change in handling since 1.2.7i3.
