there is documentation for all of this:
http://omdistro.org/doc/quickstart_redhat
for Rhel/centos. there are quickstart docs for other flavors as well. Use the
latest OMD distro (1.20) available http://omdistro.org/download
Just follow the directions and it will be clear. There is a ton of
documentation, and you should not have to make any changes to any of the
packages once OMD is installed.

nobody says you must install innovation release. You should not use 1.2.7iX for
production use. Documentation just says there's been a change in handling since
1.2.7i3.
