I have checked all settings. What I don’t understand is that the check-mk-notify user is a contact for all my services, yet there is no check-mk-notify contact in my users list. Secondly, it shows that the user check-mk-notify is being notified in the host-and-service notifications view, but all my other contacts assigned to the service are ignored from being notified.…..

Check inside the rule if timeperiod is correctly selected, of course if you have a timeperiod, and the Notification Method is set? Also the match the host/svc type if selected. In my installation is worked without change nothing in global settings. The notifications were working before to my inbox I noticed they stopped working around the time when I was attempting to get the pager alerts working with the email contact. So what I was doing was fiddling with the Global Setting: Email command line used for plain notifications. I added the value '$CONTACTPAGER$' so it now looks like this….. mail -s '$SUBJECT$' '$CONTACTEMAIL$' '$CONTACTPAGER$'. It didn’t work so I reset it to the default value. From there I attempted to modify the notifications_command.cfg file to have the '$CONTACTPAGER$' value in the commands service-notify-by-email & host-notify-by-email. Again this didn’t seem to get the pager to send with email, so I reverted them back to their default settings. Since then I have been getting no mail notifications and cant see where its gone wrong….. When I run the commands from the command line, they work, so it appears to be related to the WATO GUI, but again, cant see where its gone wrong Dino Charalambous System Engineer | CCNA Core Technology Solutions | TSD Service Management 288 Pretoria Avenue Randburg | Tel: (087) 5777 630 | Cell: 072 268 2623 E-mail: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> SERVICEDESK.REQUEST.AREA: TSD Service Management Enterprise Management Nagios DL: DL – FNB Entman From: Marcel Schulte [mailto:[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>] Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2016 5:55 PM To: tosolini, walter <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; Charalambous, Dino <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Cc: OMD Mailing List ([email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>) <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: Re: [omd-users] Email/sms Notifications stopped working Hi Dino, we recently had the case where someone "accidentally" deactivated notifications in master control snapin. Walter Tosolini 2016-07-26 11:10 GMT+02:00 Charalambous, Dino <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>: Hi all, Im running omd 1.3 in a distributed environment using checkmk WATO. Of recent I am not receiving email/sms notifications. It was working before. I have setup the contact group assignments for services and host. I can send mail from the notify users action button and that works. I’ve tested the mail -s plugin from the command line, and all of that works. When I do a fake check result to test the notifications, I don’t get anything out. When I look at the Host-and service notifications log, I see that it only sends to check-mk-notify, and I don’t even have that user in my user list. Any clues as to where I should start looking Dino Charalambous System Engineer | CCNA Core Technology Solutions | TSD Service Management 288 Pretoria Avenue Randburg | Tel: (087) 5777 630 | Cell: 072 268 2623 E-mail: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> SERVICEDESK.REQUEST.AREA: TSD Service Management Enterprise Management Nagios DL: DL – FNB Entman To read FirstRand Bank's Disclaimer for this email click on the following address or copy into your Internet browser: https://www.fnb.co.za/about-fnb/legal-matters/email-disclaimer.html If you are unable to access the Disclaimer, send a blank e-mail to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> and we will send you a copy of the Disclaimer. _______________________________________________ omd-users mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> http://lists.mathias-kettner.de/mailman/listinfo/omd-users _______________________________________________ omd-users mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> http://lists.mathias-kettner.de/mailman/listinfo/omd-users To read FirstRand Bank's Disclaimer for this email click on the following address or copy into your Internet browser: https://www.fnb.co.za/about-fnb/legal-matters/email-disclaimer.html If you are unable to access the Disclaimer, send a blank e-mail to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> and we will send you a copy of the Disclaimer.
