Ok tell me if this is a BUG or not.
In my user setup, my user does not have the “Temporarily disable all
notifications!” option set.
And my user is set as a contact to services and hosts.

Yet when I look into the check_mk_objects.cfg file, it shows my
host_notifications_enabled & my service_notifications_enabled set to 0 for
my user…….
I have also confirmed in my contacts.cfg file that 'disable_notifications':
False.

Try check the "Notifications" in Wato, you must have a rule. Check inside the
rule if timeperiod is correctly selected, of course if you have a timeperiod,
and the Notification Method is set? Also the match the host/svc type if
selected.

In my installation is worked without change nothing in global settings.

Hi all,
Thank you for your responses.

@Marcel, the buttons are all activated.
@Walter, there are contacts assigned to the services/servers. The notifications
were working before to my inbox

I noticed they stopped working around the time when I was attempting to get the
pager alerts working with the email contact.

So what I was doing was fiddling with the Global Setting: Email command line
used for plain notifications. I added the value '$CONTACTPAGER$' so it now
looks like this….. mail -s '$SUBJECT$' '$CONTACTEMAIL$' '$CONTACTPAGER$'.
It didn’t work so I reset it to the default value.
From there I attempted to modify the notifications_command.cfg file to have the
'$CONTACTPAGER$' value in the commands service-notify-by-email &
host-notify-by-email. Again this didn’t seem to get the pager to send with
email, so I reverted them back to their default settings.

Since then I have been getting no mail notifications and cant see where its
gone wrong…..

When I run the commands from the command line, they work, so it appears to be
related to the WATO GUI, but again, cant see where its gone wrong

Hi Dino,

we recently had the case where someone "accidentally" deactivated notifications
in master control snapin. I'd check for that for all sites first...

Regards,
Marcel

If you see only check-mk-notify on service/host contacts, and not the explicit
users, means your contact group is not allowed to send alarms on that
service/host.

Hi all,

Im running omd 1.3 in a distributed environment using checkmk WATO.

Of recent I am not receiving email/sms notifications. It was working before.
I have setup the contact group assignments for services and host. I can send
mail from the notify users action button and that works. I’ve tested the mail
-s plugin from the command line, and all of that works.
When I do a fake check result to test the notifications, I don’t get anything
out. When I look at the Host-and service notifications log, I see that it only
sends to check-mk-notify, and I don’t even have that user in my user list.

Any clues as to where I should start looking
