Gil, having been through many difficulties with building from source (on both Windows and Ubuntu), I've just created a wiki page How to build ooRexx <https://sourceforge.net/p/oorexx/wiki/how-to-build-oorexx>
If you'd like to check it out, I'd be happy to add any step-by-step explanations, other details, or difficulties that you should encounter. I also intend to extend and add How To's for changing and checking-in source, building docs, running regression tests, building your own extensions etc. Suggestions (and help) welcome!!
