I take that back, at $95 and with a Spartan III + VGA interface it's 
hard to go wrong here.  At least it would be a good way to find out 
first hand what kind of pain is involved in getting a tool chain 
running.

The specs of this board only reinforce the probability that if Timothy 
can put together a card with 10 times the gates and 100 times the 
memory (DRAM vs SRAM) priced only 50-100% more, it will be a cult hit 
in its own right, let alone the advantages for ASIC development.
