That higly depends on the underlying circuit. There
are basicaly two possibilities: The comparator treats
the metastable value as a random 1 or 0 and thus comes
up with an answer, but that might be wrong. The second
is that the comparator input flips between 0 and 1 and
thus does the comparator output. This might also result
in an metastable state at the next register (though very
unlikely).

Unfortunately i do not know what kind of circuitry
Xilinx/Lattice have at their inputs, thus cannot say
which one of the above posibilities it is.
