Hi,

I've been lurking on the list for a while, and I'm wondering if the requirements for Home Theater PCs and set-top boxes are being taken into account. It seems that the OGC might be very interesting for these applications at least on linux and perhaps on the windows and embedded markets as well.

What I'm worried about is the playback of broadcast video streams (DVB, ATSC, IP-streaming). The output framerate of the graphics adapter needs to be synchronized to the input framerate outside of control. Even small error will accumulate and eventually cause the need to drop/dup frames resulting in jerky motion.

So can the OGC framerate / vertical refresh be finetuned by software without causing glitches in the output?

Are there any plans for advanced hardware de-interlacing?
