Cannot say for the other languages, but concerning french there is
absolutely no ambiguity:
free as in freedom translates to "libre"
free as in free beer translates to "gratuit"
Same in Danish.
Free as in freedom translates as "fri".
Free as in free beer translates as "gratis".
