No one seems to have found definitive proof that a monitor exists that
won't accept anything but HDCP over HDMI, let alone a dearth of
monitors that accept regular DVI over HDMI.  So how do we need DRM to
stay afloat?

As far as we know now, we don't.  And for that matter, we don't REALLY
need to know for a little while yet.  Well, I don't.  Some others may.
