My computer is rather close to my TV so it would probably be less expensive to get an HD drive for my PC than a stand alone one for the TV. You can also use a PC for a DVR in which case you already have it connected to your TV.

Not everyone will want to use their PC for an A/V entertainment system, but it is an emerging market which I think will be significant.
