Commercial games want S3TC.

UT 2004 needs S3TC. It will exit when the OpenGL implementation can't do
S3TC (according to http://icculus.org/lgfaq/).
The first versions of Quake III assumed the presence of S3TC without
even checking for it (fixed in a patch).
