At least the Webpack comes for free. I had once to use a
certain comercial synthesis tool starting with "S" that was
not one bit better than the Webpack. Beside the totaly
incomprehensible error messages, i hit a bug somewhere
in this *beeep* which i had to either work around (if i
could figure out what it caused) or rely on the support
which took each time a week just to acknowledge that i've
send them a mail with a bugreport.
Considering what that PoS costs (at least 5 figures _per_year_
for a single user license), i was astonished that people accept
that level of quality of software and support.
It is really time that we replace those comercial packages
with something OSS... then we can at least fix the bugs
ourselves.
