Mark may be able to provide some more info.

I've installed ISE and EDK 8.2 and 9.1 (full, but it shouldn't differ from the webpack) on Xubuntu (6.06 - 7.10), CentOS 4, and Debian (lenny, I think) and I didn't even need to do much fiddling. CentOS is the cleanest, of course, but Xubuntu and Debian only choke on the drivers for IMPACT (from what I recall, once you apt-get the appropriate libraries). I used the following to fix my driver issues:

Service packs were no problem, either.

I should reiterate that RHEL4 is the only officially supported platform.

thanks for your work Terry. Now if only xilinx would only consider
supporting the spartan3 4000...?

All I can say is that I'll ask around... maybe it'll be supported in 10.1?

Also, bear in mind that I wield no power whatsoever. :)

Also, I should remark that all comments are solely the opinions of the original poster, who is for all practical purposes just some random guy -- they have no bearing on the outside world and in no way reflect the opinion of any other entity, corporeal or incorporated. In fact, any correlations with others' realities are purely coincidental. Disclaimery things... etcetera.
