Who would pay for the cost of materials?  We have no magic replicator
machines on this planet.   No hardware is free.  Someone has to pay to
manufacture it.  If it is free to you, then someone else has paid for
it and given it to you as a gift.

Perhaps we misunderstand what you are asking.  What did you have in mind?
