I think we need an open system first, and everything else be damned.
For now.
But you can't have everything to start, you need to reach a goal, and
those goals have to be small and well defined.
If we have learned anything about the process of engineering, which I
consider LINUX to be the state of the art reference for _ALL_
engineering, small steps and long journeys reveal solutions closest to
the ideal.
But you can't have the ideal now.

Also, I do not feel quite right, when somebody wants to accelerate
1080p30 a software way, using 8x 800MHz cores.. even at 3W, it is a
waste. The video standards (h264) are pretty closed, so just choose a
level you want to support and do it with some mW of power.
