http://web.mit.edu/freebsd/openafs/openafs.shar, which appears to be
1.6.1. This problem should go away with 1.6.1.
I just sent off a (believed to be final) patch to get 1.6.1 in the freebsd
ports collection this morning; it should hit the ports tree within a day
or two.
That sharball will not work for recent versions of freebsd, as it does not
include the OS support for 8.3, 8-stable, 9-stable, or 10-current.

There are other solutions to this, but 1.6.0 has major known issues, so
I think things will just be easier if you're not running that.
