a week???  you should have come here after the first 10mins!!!

You shouldn't need to install any mysql driver, OpenBD ships with one 
already installed.

First of all, can you telnet to your mysql server using a console:

% telnet 192.168.1.2 3306

if this doesn't come back with some garbled text, then you have a 
network issue.
