OK--whether you used the installer or not shouldn't really matter, but I'm
on Linux (Ubuntu), Tomcat 6.0.26, and OpenBD 1.4 (nightly from probably a
few weeks ago).

Is it a lot of upheaval for you to try doing a WAR deployment on Tomcat on
that server just to see if that works? That way at least you'd have a
relatively similar setup to what's working for me.
