I've also never encountered the "graphic design" thinking. I _do_ get
"Wow! I didn't think anyone still used ColdFusion!" comment a lot.
Funnily enough, because I've been pretty vocal within the Scala and
Clojure communities about my use of CFML, folks got over that very
quickly and I know at least a couple of folks who are now trying CFML
to create web apps (or at least the front end of web apps, wrapped
around their Scala and/or Clojure code!).
