I've encountered this a few times myself. I can think of at least three times in the last year having to explain that I write applications and that I'm not a graphic designer. However, it depends on the audience and the phrase you use. If you use "ColdFusion" you always get "is that language dead?" or "so, you're a graphics designer?". If you use the phrase "I write a lot of my applications in a language called CFML", then you usually get "Oh, never heard of that...tell me more".
I can think of at least three people I've met at the locally that came to use "ColdFusion" because they were graphics designers that needed to do more than just "static". So I don't know if there is a some unknown link between CF and graphic designers that exists and pollutes what ColdFusion can be used for. .pjf -- tag/function ref: http://www.openbluedragon.org/manual/ mailing list - http://groups.google.com/group/openbd?hl=en Get to Texas in Feb for OpenCFSummit http://www.opencfsummit.org/
