Peter's puzzlement gets back to a theory that I failed miserably in outlining yesterday: that MacrAdobe (perhaps unwittingly) created that link when they bundled CF awareness into Dreamweaver. Back in the day, we coders would use IDEs like Homesite and CFStudio to do our back-end work, while the artists used Dreamweaver for front-end design.

At some pre-Eclipse point - as you may recall - there was a push to get us ALL to use Dreamweaver for both ends. While convenient for the small or single-person team, it may have clouded CF's true role and sowed the seed of the misconception that we're reaping now.

P.S. Or there will always be some quantity of idiots out there.

(snip) So I don't know if there is a some unknown link between CF and graphic designers that exists and pollutes what ColdFusion can be used for.
