You were right, finally there was some problems with compilation
using automake newer than 1.4 - it builds in appropriate way with
automake1.4 (except:
a. debian/rules execute permission denied,
b. dnl for configure.in line with AM_PROG for openca-sv, scep and ocspd, c. "CVS is a directory" (see below).)
Anyway problems with automake are probably caused with macros created
with older versions, they should be generated again with newer automakes.
I'll try to review this diff You provided, unless You're already started reviewing it?
