While I agree with the sentiment about keeping things open, I suspect
"an active user" is setting the bar for entry too low.  You should
really have made some tangible contribution to deserver to be involved
in a decision making process.  An "active contributor" would be a more
appropriate justification.  You then need to decide what qualifies as an
"active contributor".
