Someone : I don't see how MetaCard Corp. would gain from this... unless
they plan to go into the free software support business.
Alain : The MetaCard engin will be licensed to UFP and OpenCard
contributors, for free, for the purpose of rapidly prototyping the
OpenCard GUI. The rest of the World will pay the full price of MC. They
will be swayed easier if the GUI is really great and supported by a
whole OpenSource network of really helpful people like ourselves !
Uli: Even the Mac papers say: MetaCard is great but the UI $uck$. Thus,
if we prototype OpenCard's UI using MetaCard they can ship that with MC
which will improve their product greatly.
Alain : Absolutely. That is MY perception of their intentions as well.
