Personally, if I had an updated CompileIt today, I would be inclined to use it for prototyping and certain projects. Things that are well suited for C might as well be done in C! I'm sure I'd never write a device driver in CompileIt, but it might be mighty nice to be able to say something like "put item 3 of line 4 of someVariable into item 6 of line 3 of someThingElse" instead of the equivalent in C. I guess it all depends on what you are doing with it... Anyway, I will go take a look at egcs as Anthony suggested. If I make any real progress I'll report back, and share anything useful with the Opencard effort. Brian
