Julian,

 what makes BASIC more like a "real" programming language is the fact that
it has a nerdiness factor: It is pretty cryptic and not as verbose as xTalk
or human language. We can't beat that with OpenTalk (and I wouldn't want to
do it).

 I have to admit, current BASIC dialects are much more advanced and better
strucured that the original BASIC I grew up with, but I'm satisfied if I
have xTalk. I hope Anthony soon has some time for OpenTalk again. The block
file format only needs some changes & bug fixes in the compact() routine
and then I'll upload it (don't worry, I have a backup).
