That is much better. 

It now runs, but only with software rendering and I get some consistent,
errors with no data type from colormap.  I will investigate more next
week

Try setting it to 24 and see if your problem clears up. 16 bit has 
been problematic (although we do have some fixes that are in CVS for 
16 bit).
