Hello,

I'm trying to install OpenDX on my Win NT machine, and was hoping someone
could point out what I've missed
in the installation instructions.

I downloaded the OpenDX binaries (v. 4.0.6)
and installed Cygwin B20.1 (user version)
I'm using Exceed (v.5.1.3.0) as my X-windows client.

I had to install it in d: drive, but mounted it according to the
instructions (which seems ok).

I can start the program via opendx.bat (with the pathnames updated) or via
sh dx, and after about 3 minutes (literally), I get the welcome window and
the menu window (that starts with Import Data...; Run Visual Programs..)
I can open the tutorial and flip through the text, but if I try to view a
sample or edit a visual program (eg. selecting example1.net), I get an error
window with "unable to connect to dxexec" after another ~3 minutes. At the
same time, my DOS window displays: timeout waiting for response from DX

Are these long wait times normal (PII, 128MB machine) ?
Any suggestions on why I can't get past this point?

Thanks in advance!
