Jeff: here's my reply to Pete's questions. I seem to be having the identical problem as Susan, with slightly different software versions. I have not tried javadx: the problems are simply writing ImageMagick file formats from Save Image...
ImageMagick 5.2 (just downloaded from opendx and installed: new LD_LIBRARY_PATH that includes only the new directory: yes, we had older IM installed, but this and changes to $path should be masking that version off). Irix 6.5.? (Software manager only tells me 6.5). I think it's 6.5.5. Running on Indigo2. >Is the stack trace informative? (dbx dxexec ... where ). I can't remember how to start this up and connect to it from the UI (connect to already running server doesn't). Reminder? > >Can you use IM's convert utility write a gif? >I assume convert uses the same library (or at least the same code). YES > >Can you refine the problem by writing other formats from OpenDX that >exercise libMagick (jpeg, pdf, etc.) >or do they all coredump? YES (jpg and gif break connection) Do you get the intermediate .miff file? YES And convert in the shell makes a gif from this miff. > >Is there another copy/version of libMagick leftover on the machine? POSSIBLY if I screwed up somehow in setting paths.
