In order to try what was suggested, I downloaded the sources for 4.2.0 and 4.3.2, ran ./configure for each followed by a make for each of the sources - I get different errors on each and can't seem to figure out whats missing. I am running debian (sid) with a 2.4.18 kernel on an athlon 2100.
